Selected participants will present their findings from the assigned workshop pre-work.

Student Activities within a Design-Build-Test Project



Building on the workshop pre-work, participant teams will refine and create key project milestones reinforcing important aspects of the engineering design process as related to design-build projects. Then, a draft course schedule will be developed incorporating these milestones. The draft schedule should enforce student progress goals and provide opportunities for monitoring student progress. Both one and two-semester projects will be addressed.

Assessing Student Attainment of Learning Outcomes in a Design Project



Participants will develop expected learning outcomes for students working on a major design-build-test project. Then, using constructive alignment of learning and assessment, appropriate assessment tools will be identified.

Course Planning for Project-Based Learning



A detailed course syllabus incorporating project milestones related to the engineering design process and student design-build-test project will be developed. Related assessment methods/techniques will be specified and discussed.

Curriculum Planning for Project-Based Learning



Participants will identify issues and opportunities for embedding project based learning in their programs, using their current programs of study (program curricula).

Coffee and Tea Break



Specific implementation tools used by ASU Polytechnic School to solicit and monitor project procurement for its students will be explored and discussed. Participants will be asked to identify issues they see with regard to use of such tools in Vietnam Universities and possible solutions will be discussed.
