The University of Science and Technology - the University of Danang: Workshop on "University- IT Business partnership in 2016”

With an aim to develop collaborative relationships between IT Businesses and the University in tailored-training to meet society’s needs, strengthen collaboration in research and training in IT field, on August 18th, 2016, the University of Science and Technology – the University of Danang (DUT) organized the Workshop on "University- IT Businesses partnership in 2016”.

Attending the Workshop, there were leaders of departments of DUT, representatives of College of Technology and College of IT, Faculty of Computer Science of University of Education, Faculty of IT - DUT.
Overview of the Workshop
Regarding guests outside the University, there were Mr. Tran Ngoc Thach, Deputy Director, Department of Information and Communications, Danang city and Mr.Pham Hong Quang, Director of the Department of Information and Communications, Quang Nam province; and with the presence of about 40 representatives who are CEO, Head of Departments of IT businesses in Da Nang.
In recent years, DUT has built cooperative relationships with many domestic and foreign businesses in various fields of education, scientific research and technology transfer. In which, the cooperation with businesses in the IT sector has been one of the outstanding achievements of the University. Specifically, the University has cooperated with businesses to implement such various activities as organizing seminars on engineering, new technology for students; inviting business experts to teach academic courses and professional orientation for students; organizing week of business and IT students annually ... Therefore, according to a survey of the University, in recent years, the number of IT students has got job right after graduation has been always the highest rate compared to other industries.
This Workshop was also an opportunity for the University and business to exchange information and discuss in order to promote and further expand the cooperation. The University has determined that the close link with the business has an important implication, in which both sides need to support each other in the training of human resources to meet the increasing needs of the society. Through the workshop, the University received a lot of comments, contributions and feedback from the businesses – employers of IT resources – with an aim at improving the quality of education as well as contributing to the development of the university and business.

The Workshop wrapped up with a lot of exchanges and useful sharings between business, faculty leaders and university leaders. In the orientation of the University, it will coordinate closely with the business to organize the annual events for IT students such as receiving students of the University for internship; jointly conducting the graduation project. Businesses will coordinate with the IT faculty in drawing up and development of training programs in the forms of giving comments on the need for human resources in the training program, comments on course syllabi and suggestions for teaching practical skills to meet the needs of business and society. Besides, businesses will also send experts to work together with members of the faculty to engage in teaching elective courses to provide the students with vocational skills in line with practical requirements of human resource development in IT & communications.
