Chemical Engineering faculty’s students won the Best award for female leaders at the final round of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge (IEC)

On 05th April 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, the final round of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge (IEC) was organized by BUILD-IT/ASU Project and Sponsor of DOW Vietnam. The final round was attended by 28 research teams from various universities in Vietnam. Here are 28 brilliant ideas chosen from 60 applications submitted for this contest. The Goldstein Birds team under the guidance of Dr. Ho Viet Thang consists of students from class 21SH1, Biotechnology, faculty of Chemical Engineering, University of Science and Technology, University of Da Nang and a student in E-commerce, Faculty of E-commerce- Danang University of Economics- The University of Danang who is one of 28 excellent teams participating in the final round of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge. After nearly 6 months of working from idea formation, design, implementation of the ideas with the use of waste products from bagasse and rice husk through processing into artificial boards instead of wood planks, the Group has made great efforts to overcome the difficulties and challenges to create the product as desired.
At the final round, each team has to go through two rounds: the first round is the POSTER presentation to select the top 10 teams and the second round is the PRESENTATION. With cohesion and a spirit, the Goldstein Birds become the top 10 teams for the second round. In a style that expressed confidence and expressed the responsibility of each team member under the lead of Huynh Mai Thi, Goldstein Birds won the Best award for female leaders at the competition.
Two other teams from the Chemistry Faculty were BioFL (including the Students from Biotechnology Division, faculty of Chemical Engineering, University of Science and Technology and Danang University of Economics- The University of Danang) and Stay Hungy Stay Foolish (including the students from Chemical Engineering Division, Biotechnology Division and Automation and Control Engineering Division, University of Science and Technology, University of Danang)
By the end of the contest, they have learned a lot of research experiences, teamwork skills, presentation skills and this will be a valuable lesson for their jobs in the future.
