With a history of more than 40 years in Vietnam, the Royal Danish Embassyis continuously enjoying widening the scope of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark. The coming years, the Danish Embassy will be focusing on a transition away from the more traditional development cooperation and towards a relationship focusing more on commercial relations, private sector development, cultural exchange, and research development, while increasing the political dialogue to encompass all aspects of our cooperation.

In this relation green growth has become a key point. In November 2011, Denmark signed a joint declaration with the government of Vietnam aimed at building a strategic partnership in the areas of climate change, environment, energy and green growth. Furthermore, Vietnam and Denmark agreedupon encouraging the use of Danish expertise and technology within energy efficiency, renewable energy, water and waste management.

The Danish Experience shows that persistent and active energy policies on enhanced energy efficiency can at the same time allow for sustained economic growth and the reduction of dependency on fossil fuels while safeguarding the environment.
