23 DUT lecturers received Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of Da Nang City People`s Committee in science and technology activities in 2021

On the morning of November 3, 2021, the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang city held a ceremony to reward organizations and individuals with excellent achievements in science and technology activities in 2021. In which, 23 lecturers/scientists from University of Science and Technology, University of Danang were honored.

In 2020, the Department of Science and Technology received 567 applications for commendation, including: S&T projects; solutions and inventions; scientific articles published in prestigious scientific journals; Profiles of organizations and individuals winning prestigious domestic and foreign awards.
According to Decision No. 1371/QD-UBND dated April 26, 2021 and Decision No. 1522/QD-UBND dated May 5, 2021, University of Science and Technology, UD has 23 lecturers who were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Danang City, including:
- 01 unique group of authors who have had useful solutions were granted Patent No. 2405 according to Decision No. 11341w/QD-SHTT dated August 12, 2020 of the National Office of Intellectual Property.
Group of authors: Le Thi Xuan Thuy - Le Hoai Nam.
Solution name: "Multi-stage worm rearing equipment for agricultural waste treatment".
- 02 groups of authors whose works won the third prize "Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award" include:
(1) Author group: Phan The Anh, Nguyen Dinh Lam, Doan Thi Thu Loan, Nguyen Hoang Trung Hieu with the topic: "Research and fabrication of microbial immobilized capillary materials to improve the efficiency of wastewater treatment with high organic load".
(2) Author group: Le Hung, To Thuy Nga, Nguyen Duong Quang Chanh with the topic: “Study on the influence of the operation of hydroelectric projects upstream on the water supply of Cau Do water plant in the context of climate change, sea level rise and socio-economic development of Da Nang city and suggest appropriate solutions.

According to Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen, in the past period, the COVID-19 epidemic has affected all aspects of life. In that context, there are many scientific research works made from the hands, brains and hearts of science lovers that have been applied in epidemic prevention. That not only shows the passion for research of scientists but also shows the responsibility to the community in the context of limited resources for epidemic prevention and lack of technical equipment. Besides, there are many scientific products with high applicability and practicality, contributing to solving problems posed in socio-economic development activities of the city.
In the coming time, the city will continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions to promote science and technology activities, further enhancing the role of science and technology in the city's development in the right spirit. Resolution 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo on construction and development of the city until 2030, with a vision to 2045. At the same time, he expressed his wish that scientists and intellectuals would continue to promote their intelligence and enthusiasm for the cause of scientific research and innovation, contributing to the overall development of the city.

Scientific research activities and technology transfer are always strong points of the lecturers and students of the University of Science and Technology, the University of Danang. Many researches of high scientific value have been published in many prestigious domestic and foreign journals. Many studies have been applied in practice to solve difficulties and promote production of business units in the city in particular and the country in general.
Congratulations on the efforts of the faculty in scientific research, which have achieved proud results, contributing to the honor of the Da Nang Polytechnic title.
