THE CONFERENCE OF STUDENTS` SCIENCE RESEARCH IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022-2023 AT THE FACULTY OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING WAS ORGANIZED VERY SUCCESSFULLY

Following the success of the previous conference, at 13:00 PM on 24/11/2022, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, University of Science and Technology- The University of Da Nang held the Students’ Science Research Conference for the academic year 2022 - 2023 in the lobby of Faculty of Chemical Engineering, with the participation of 69 topics from the fields of food technology, Biotechnology, Petroleum & Oil Extraction Technology and Chemical Engineering. Attending the conference, there were the faculty leaders, lecturers and students of Faculty of Chemical Engineering. Specially, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Lam, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee, Chairman of University Council of Danang University of Science and Technology (DUT) spend his time to attend the conference.

the Students’ Science Research Conference is an annual activity of Chemical Engineering Faculty and DUT, which aims to create a forum for exchanging, learning, training, promoting the research and creativity of students. This is also a place to help students strengthen, expand knowledge, develop thinking and is an opportunity for students to apply the knowledge learned to solve practical problems under the enthusiastic, dedicated guidance of lecturers of the faculty and representatives of the enterprises.

Coming to the Students’ Science Research Conference, there were 13 subjects selected from 04 divisions to participate in the oral presentation and 69 subjects for presented poster. Among the research topics are two potential topics from divisions of Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering, including an interdisciplinary topic which was conducted by the students from divisions of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at Ted Technology Joint Stock Company under the guidance of Dr. Duong The Hy, Dr. Le Ly Thuy Tram and Engineer Le Viet Trung - representative of the enterprises.

Opening the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Thi Thu Loan - Deputy Dean of Chemical Engineering faculty gave the opening speech. It is followed by presentations of students and evaluation of the Board for 13 presentation teams selected from various disciplines, followed by evaluation of Poster.

After a long time of hard work and a lot of effort for research and implementation of the topic, this is the time when students are shown their own talents, presenting the results that after many non-stop efforts to bring the excellent results to the conference. The proud appear clearly on the faces of students when they have gained the achievements.

Besides of seeing the nice posters, good and diverse research content, listening to the fascinating and convincing reports, the teachers and students also observing the research products exhibited at the product display area.

The topics in this year's conference were mostly creative, interesting, highly applied research, solving current problems of society and many future development potentials. Therefore, after a period of hard working, the Organizing Committee has finally selected and awarded for research topics to participate in the presentation at the DUT Conference in the academic year 2022 – 2023, including 01 first prize, 02 second prizes and 03 third prizes, as follows:

- 01 First prize belongs to the topic: Research on extracting highly biologically active polysaccharide from apricot and application in the production of nutritional drinks. Student team: Bui Huu Nghia (Class 18H2B) and Ly Thi Hang Nga (Class 18H2B), under the guidance of Dr. Ta Thi To Quyen.

- 02 Second Prizes belongs to the following subjects:

1. Topic "Investigation on the active phase concentration (Ni) catalyzes on the characterization of C-CNF nanocomposite products and their ability to treat oily water". Student team: Le Manh Khoi (Class 18H5CLC), Tran Nhat Hao (Class 18H5CLC), Le Ngoc Thanh (Class 19H5CLC), under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Huu Tri.

2. Topic “Research on preparation and improvement of antibacterial and antifungal effects of nano chitosan”. Group of students: Nguyen Thi Minh Thi (Class 18H4), Ta Thi Minh Nguyet (Class 18H4), Nguyen Thi Hien (Class 18SH) under the guidance of Dr. Duong The Hy, Dr. Le Ly Thuy Tram and Eng. Le Viet Trung - Ted Technology Corporation.

1. Topic "Fabrication of keratin/PVA bio-nanofilm and application in colorant treatment". Student: Pham Thi Hong Phuong (Class 18SH), under the guidance of Dr. Ta Ngoc Ly.

2. Topic "Investigation of conditions for the acquisition of indigestible starch of types 3 and 4 from the pulp of Jackfruit nuts (artocarpus heterophyllus)". Student: Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong (Class 18H2B), under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Minh Nhat.

3. Topic "Studying synthesis of silver nano by green method applied in biotechnology". Student team: Nguyen Thi Phuong (Class 18H4), Nguyen Viet Sy (Class 18H4), under the guidance of Dr. Phan The Anh.

In addition, the Conference Organizing Committee has also awarded the prize for outstanding poster design research, as follows:

-01 First prize belongs to the topic: "Investigation on processing wood plastic composite from waste poly(vinyl chloride)". Students: Quy Cong lap (Class 18H4), Trinh Truong Nhu Yen (Class 18H4), Nguyen Sy The Anh (Class 19H4), Pham Thi My Hanh (Class 19H4), under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Thi Thu Loan, Eng. Nguyen Kim Son and Eng. Huynh Viet Thang - Lavergne Vietnam Co. LTD.

1. The topic "Study of production process of kombucha tea combined with ginseng". Student: Nguyen Thi My Thuan (Class 18H2A), under the guidance of Dr. Nguyen Thi Dong Phuong.

2. The topic "Pectin membrane research supplement antibacterial agent for food wrap". Student team: Hoang Ha Anh Thu (Class 19H2CLC1), Tran Thi Thom (19H2CLC2), Vo Thi Minh Hieu (19H2CLC1), under the guidance of Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh.

1. Topic "Synthesis of CeO2 catalytic for complete oxidation reaction". Students: Tran Hong Quan (Class 19H5CLC), Nguyen Quang Son (Class 19H5CLC), Le Van Nhut (Class 19H5CLC), under the guidance of Dr. Nguyen Dinh Minh Tuan.

2. Topic "Study on selection of bacteria capable of biosynthesis of gamma - aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the fermentation of Nam O fish sauce by traditional techniques". Student team: Truong Van Huy Hoang (Grade 18SH), Nguyen Tran My Hoang (Grade 18SH), Tran Anh Huy (Grade 18SH), under the guidance of Ms. Dr. Ngo Thai Bich Van, Ms. ThS. Wu Chuyang, CN. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Dr. Pham Chau Huynh - Danang Biotechnology Center.

3. Topic "Study on the effect of liquid glass content on the ability of coagulation of PAC in the process of water treatment". Group of students: Le Bao Kha (Class 19H1), Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (Class 19H1), Nguyen Van Anh (Class 19H1), Nguyen Hoang Tan Dat (Class 19H1), under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Cam Nam.

The Students’ Science Research Conference for the academic year 2022 - 2023 of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering faculty, DUT finished successfully. Leaders of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and the Organizing Committee of the Conference demonstrated the enthusiasm of the guidance lecturers, the interest of the enterprise and, especially, the spirit of creative and non-stop efforts of the students in the process of doing research. This is not only the Conference to honor the excellent research teams or individuals, but also a valuable opportunity for the teams to see and evaluate the overview of the scientific research activities of students. Faculty leaders believe that the research activities will be closer and closer to the students and the faculty’ students will have excellent, new and potential research in the next academic year. We wish you continue to have experiences, explore to reach more successful scientific research, creating new values for our life.
