The meeting topics were about trends in Oil and Gas technology development, technical issues, research collaboration needs, vocational orientation for graduates.

The meeting reports shared interesting knowledge about the history of the Oil and Gas industry in Vietnam, academic and research which inspired students in studying oil and gas engineering. The meeting also discusses employment opportunities and start-ups after graduation requiring students to have knowledge, professional skills, good English, IQ, EQ, passion and even risks and luckiness to be successful. Mr. Hoi, Deputy General Director of Binh Son Refinery, emphasized that success is the result of hard work and persistent dedication.

Mr. San mentioned the current difficulties of the Oil and Gas industry regarding manpower force saturation, which are due to the oil price crisis and the labor movement in ASEAN. This had put great pressure on education and training, forcing us to increase the quality of training and invest in accreditation (AUN, ABET) for regional and international integration. In terms of discipline knowledge, it was necessary to shift the training to the gas chemistry and supporting industry for gas products in order to be in line with the current situation of the industry.

The meeting was successful with practical contributions to the common activities of Vietnam Oil and Gas Association, Quang Ngai Petroleum Branch and the DUT Faculty of Chemical Engineering.
