Introduction of Biotechnology Division

The Division of biotechnology – Faculty of Chemical Engineering, University of Science and Technology, The University of Danang was established in 2001.

After more than 15 years of building and developing, Biotechnology Division is continuing to improve in teaching staff, curriculum and teaching qualification. Recently, there are totally ten members in Biotechnology Division, including eight lecturers and two experimental lecturers. The teaching staff was well training from aboard in which four Doctors graduated from France, Russia, Japan and Austria, three postgraduates studying in France, Belgium, and Japan, one Master graduated from Australia.

Our main politic responsibility is training high-skill graduates that can be adapted for the socioeconomic development of the Central – Highlands in the field of Biotechnology. Recently, about 50 students enroll and the same number of graduates is trained annually. Since now, there are more than 500 graduated from Biotechnology Division and many of them are playing important role in companies, factories such as Danang Biotechnology Centre - Danang Department of Science and Technology, Heineken Vietnam Brewery, Danang Seaproducts Import-Export Corporation, Danapha Pharmaceutical Join Stock Company,Vietnam Soya Milk Factory – Vinasoy, Quang Ngai Humic Fertilizer Join Stock Company  and many different companies in Danang city, Highlands and Ho Chi minh city

In addition to teaching activities, cadres, trainers of Biotechnology Division have been taken part in doing research to improve professional knowledge for teaching activities. Many research projects including ministry-level, province-level and Danang-level universities have been accepted. From the results of the research project, many articles have been published in international and national scientific journals and country. Some research projects were applied and transferred to companies and operations. Moreover, results from these projects are also used as references and writing textbooks. Recently, Biotechnology Division has three well-equipped laboratories serving for researching and teaching activities of students and lecturers.

Biotechnology Division is responsible for teaching fundamental courses and professional course for undergraduate program and postgraduate program.
