TRAINING PROGRAM OF MASTER DEGREE IN BIOTECHNOLOGY
1. Mission of program
The Master program in Biotechnology of Chemistry Faculty, Danang University of Science and Technology, The University of Danang aims at training high-quality human resources for development of Biotechnolgy in Central and Central Highland Vietnam and providing scientific and technological transfer services for the socio-economic development of the country.
Training time: 1.5 to 2 years
Types of training:
- Research-oriented master program: Full-time
- Profession-oriented master program: Part-time
Expected Learning Outcome
General Expected Learning Outcome
After completing the training program, the master of biotechnology will be able to:
- Approach and solve problems in biotechnology in particular and in other related fields in general;
- Update new issues, acquire research and analytical methods as well as important skills in biotechnology such as working both independently and as a member or leader in a team, being able to continue to study doctoral degree in other countries...
Specific Expected Learning Outcome
a. Research-Oriented
- Ability to obtain, improve and apply basic and specialized knowledge as well as neccessary skills to solve scientific, technical and practical problems.
- Ability to use and operate efficiently mordern biotechnology equipment.
- Ability to work in team, have leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to have systematic thinking, creative thinking and lifelong learning skills.
- Be able to perceive the social context, independently conduct scientific research as well as collaborate in scientific research.
- Ability to continue to study doctoral program in biotechnology and related fields.
- Be able to work in different positions (researcher, lecturer, consultor, manager...)
- Ability to communicate in foreign languages (B1 level according to the European reference framework)
b. Profession-Oriented

Enrollment quota
The Master of Biotechnology of Chemistry Faculty, Danang University of Science and Technology (DUT), The University of Danang recruits 10 students per year.
Admission criteria
For degree requirement, candidates must satisfy one of the following conditions:
- Have an undergraduate degree in the right or appropriate major with title of biotechnology, biology, environment-biology, agriculture.
- Have an undergrade degree in the close major to the biotechnology major such as food technology, aquaculture, chemical engineering, have taken additional courses to obtain the equivalence of a degree in the right major.
For seniority of the work, who has an undergrate degree with the grade of good or excellent in the majors mentioned above, can register to take the examination right after graduation. For the remaining cases, candidates must have at least one year of professional experience suitable to the biotechnology major since graduation.
For the profession oriented master prgram: seniority of the work is not required.
Examination subject:
Candidates take three subjects: General chemistry, organic chemistry and foreign language (English, French, German, Chinese: equivalent level B according to the general regulations of the University of Danang in the entrance examination)

Curriculum structure
Curriculum is designed for two options: Research-Oriented and Profession-Oriented
The curriculum of Research Master program in Biotechnology consists of 50 credits, of which 22 credits are compulsory, 16 credits are electives, and 12 credits are graduation thesis.
The curriculum of the Professional Master program in Biotechnology consists of 45 credits, of which 19 credits are compulsory, 16 credits are electives and 10 credits are graduation thesis.
