JOURNEY TO JOIN BKDN TECHSHOW 2022-2023 OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING FACULTY’S STUDENTS AT LE QUY DON High School - DANANG CITY

On December 17^th & 18^th 2022, University of Science and Technology, The University of Danang coorperrated with Danang Department of Education and Training and Le Quy Don High School Specialist successfully organized the Science Conference and Technology Exhibition - "BKDN Techshow 2022-2023" with the participation of all Faculties in the University of Science and Technology, The University of Danang and a large number of high schools in Da Nang city.

BKDN Techshow is not only an annual activity to create an academic playground, help students in the school exchange, learn, promote creative thinking ability, scientific research ability, apply the theoretical knowledge learned to solve practical problems, but also a bridge between lecturers and students of University of Science and Technology, The University of Danang to high schools in the region, spreading the enthuse for science and technology to high school students.

Following the success of the previous years, at BKDN Techshow this year, Chemical Engineering faculty had 26 products and many posters. All of these products are the results of scientific research by the students under the guidance of lecturers of University of Science and Technology, The University of Danang and co-instructors from the Enterprises. These are the results of students’ scientific research, which are applicable, have high practice and meet the requirements of production deployment, technology transfer and start-up.

In addition to the annual activities, Chemical Engineering faculty also brings interesting scientific activities such as "Cloud hunting" and ice cream making by applying the characteristics of liquid Nitrogen and see the world through microscopy this year. Pupils and students participating in the exhibition had the opportunity to experience the preparation samples and using microscopy themselves, as well as observed and performed experiments related to liquid Nitrogen. These activities have attracted the attention of pupils as well as students from other faculties of DUT.

Attending the conference, there are representatives of Danang Department of Education and Training, Danang Department of Science and Technology, Danang Department of Information and Communication on the side of Danang City; the Chairman of the UD Council, Deputy Director of The University of Danang and functional departments on the side of The University Danang; DUT council, the board of Rectors as well as leaders of the Faculty and the Departments on the side of University of Science and Technology, The University of Danang;

On the side of the Le Quy Don high school Specialist, there are the Rector; Representative leaders of the high schools in Danang city and the teachers, pupils and students of the schools in Danang city.

In this year, the number and quality of topics of Chemical Engineering students participating in BKDN Techshow is much higher than previous years, reflecting the development of scientific research in the Faculty despite of the difficulties. This shows the continued support from the Faculty leaders and lecturers as well as students' continuous efforts.

 At the BKDN Techshow 2022-2023, lecturers and students of Chemical Engineering faculty have won remarkable awards.

1. TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION AWARDS AT BKDN TECHSHOW 2022-2023:

In this event, Chemical Engineering faculty has won the following awards:

* Idea Prize: Chemical Engineering faculty has won 02 (01 second prize and 01 third prize) of 7 (01 first prize, 02 second prize and 04 third prize), specifically:

- 01 Second prize: Product "PVA membrane contains nanochitosan granules coated with lemongrass essential oil". Student team: Dao Thi Huyen Trang (Class 18H4) and Nguyen Minh Quang (Class 18H4). Instructor: Dr. Duong The Hy.

- 01 Third prize: Product "Silver nano antibacterial solution for green chemical synthesis". Student: Tran Thi Minh Nguyet (Class 18SH). Guiding Instructor: Dr. Nguyen Hoang Trung Hieu.

* Technological Award: Chemical Engineering faculty has won 01 second prize of 7 (01 first prize, 02 second prize and 04 third prize): Product: "Kombucha drinking water from Lam Dong wax avocado butter". Student team: Huyen To Nu Chi Lan (Class 18H2B), Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan (Class 19H2CLC1) and Vo Phuong Tien (Class 19H2CLC2). Instructor: Dr. Nguyen Thi Truc Loan.

2. Research result presentation award at BKDN TECHSHOW 2022-2023:

"Science Conference and Technology Product Exhibition of Students, pupils in the academic year 2022 - 2023", 20 outstanding articles on science and application were selected for the final round. These include 14 topics from DUT students and 06 topics from high school pupil teams. From 06 awards (01 first prize, 02 second prize and 03 third prize), Chemical Engineering faculty has achieved 01 third prize with the topic: "Research on the extraction of highly biologically active polysaccharides from apricot and application in the production of nutritional drinks". Student team: Bui Huu Nghia (Class 18H2B) and Ly Thi Hang Nga (Class 18H2B). Instructor: Dr. Ta Thi To Quyen.

The successful BKDN Techshow season closed with the lecturers and students of Chemical Engineering faculty, University of Science and Technology, The University of Danang and proud achievements through a year of study. On the basis of the results and prestige achieved at the Scientific Conference and Technology Product Exhibition this time, Chemical Engineering faculty will have further solid development to bring high scientific topics, many applied products to help students satisfy their creative passion, start-up, and efforts to contribute to the spread of scientific research activities for pupils in Danang high schools.
