Recognizing the outstanding achievements in scientific research and training activities, as well as the valuable contributions to the development of cooperation and friendship with the University of Danang (UD); the University of Danang solemnly held a ceremony for conferring honorary professorship on Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan – International Specialist at CEA-INES (Atomic Energy Commission - French National Institute of Solar Energy) on May 26, 2017 at 41 Le Duan Hall.

Attending the ceremony, there were Board of President of UD; Heads and Deputy Heads of Departments; Directors of Centers; Heads and Deputy Heads of Affiliated Institutes and Faculties; Rectors, Representatives of the Leaders of Academic Affair Departments and Science, Technology & International Cooperation Departments from member institutions; the guests. From University of Science and Technology – UD, there were the Board of Rector; Heads, Deputy Heads of Departments; Directors, Deputy Directors of Centers and Institutes; Faculties Leaders; Professors, Associate Professors, Ph.D., Heads of Divisions; Student representatives from Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Program for Formation of Excellent Engineers (PFIEV).

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam - President of the University of Danang - said that Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan is a well-known scientist in electrical engineering, who has contributed an important part in enhancing the quality of lectures and research activities in the electrical engineering at the University of Da Nang with 08 doctoral students supervised by him; 24 articles and scientific reports co-published with lecturers, scientific researchers of the University of Da Nang. In addition, Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan has participated in many joint scientific projects and implemented 08 scientific seminars at the University of Science and Technology - UD. Recognizing and appreciating his great contributions to the development of scientific research activities, cooperation and friendship with UD, the University of Danang agreed to confer honorary professorship on Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan.

In the past time, Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan, who was in charge of cooperation at Grenoble - the French National Institute of Technology (G-INP), has made important contributions to promote the cooperation between Vietnam and G-INP. He also participated in the orientation and implementation of training program of PFIEV which was established in 1999. PFIEV is a cooperation program between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of French Republic, according to the Protocol signed on November 17, 1997 between Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training and the Embassy of the France Republic in Vietnam. University of Science and Technology - UD is a member of 04 universities in Vietnam participating in PFIEV together with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, National University of Civil Engineering, Ho Chi Minh University of Technology – a member of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

In response to the cherishing of the University of Danang, Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan was impressed to say that this honor is not only the pride of him, his family but also the common joy to share with his partners, students, ..., and he will continue to contribute to scientific research activities and promote cooperation with the University of Danang in the coming years. Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan was also very pleased to receive the congratulations and take souvenir photos with guests, associates, students at the ceremony.
