Student Exchange Program between GSGES (Kyoto University) and EPRC (DUT)

An enriching and meaningful summer has officially come to an end!

From August 15-16, 2025, the Environment Protection Research Center, Danang University of Science & Technology (EPRC-DUT) was honored to host a student exchange delegation from the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies (GSGES), Kyoto University, Japan. Led by Assoc. Prof. Shuhei TANAKA, the delegation had a vibrant study and exchange program with Assoc. Prof. Le Phuoc Cuong and staff from EPRC.

The program provided students with invaluable practical knowledge through hands-on field trips:

August 15, 2025: Visited the Institute of Energy and Environment Science and Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the Environment Protection Research Center (EPRC-DUT).

August 16, 2025: Conducted a field survey at the Phu Loc Wastewater Treatment Plant and Khanh Son Landfill in Da Nang city. These trips offered students a wealth of useful information for their studies and graduation projects.

Furthermore, the collaboration will continue with a two-month research activity by student Ohatake at EPRC. Under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Le Phuoc Cuong, Ohatake will conduct in-depth research on microplastics in the Phu Loc River basin, contributing to Da Nang city's environmental protection efforts.

This marks a significant step in strengthening international cooperation and expanding learning and research opportunities for students in the environmental field.
