Introduction Faculty of Architecture

The Faculty of Architecture was established in 2012 based on the Unit of Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering.  The faculty has become the main source of professional education in the fields of architecture and urban planning for Highland and Central provinces.

The Faculty of Architecture has been organized with two Division/Units: Unit of Architecture and Unit of Urban planning along with several studios. The total number of the teaching staff is 21, 04 PhD; 13 MSc. in Architecture, Fine Art and others (4 lecturers studying post-graduate abroad). Most of the lecturers in the Faculty accomplished their diplomas in industrialized countries such as the US., Belgium, France, Japan, Taiwan, etc. In addition, the Faculty also has a collaborative team of guest lecturers who are professors, experts, researchers and lecturers from prestigious universities, and the contribution of many experienced architects who come from consultant companies in Vietnam.

Faculty members have chaired, participated and completed research projects at the various levels of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the University, which have achieved satisfactory results. The Faculty has hold and co-organized many seminars/workshops/conferences; The faculty's lecturers are authors and co-authors of textbooks and reference book, publish many ISI articles on international research journals; The focused research areas are as follows: vernacular architecture, building energy simulation, building design optimization, architectural conservation, urban design and planning, etc. Besides, faculty members also participate in design consultancy, project construction and management.

The Faculty's students take part in and have achieved high prizes in research contests of UD-DUT, of INSEE prize, Loa Thanh national prize, Sao Bien prize... They are also very active in social activities. Students from the FA are highly evaluated by architectural consulting firms and public agencies. Its alumni in working in various senior positions in both private and public sectors. The detailed structure of the FA is shown in Figure 0‑2.
