2. Education Objective

The objective of the Master’s degree of Architecture of the University of Danang is to develop high-qualified human resources serving the growing demand of the region, as in accordance to the development plan of the University of Danang.

General Objectives

To educate graduate students with professional qualifications and skills in the field of architecture serving the Central and Highlands regions and the whole country. After completion of the program, students will have solid knowledge, ability to work independently, teamwork, ability to update new knowledge, practical ability and being adaptive to the development of architecture, having ability to detecting and solving problems in the field of architecture.

Specific objectives

Attitude

Students graduated from the Master’s level of Architecture of DUT perform better at the quality of politics, ethics, social responsibility, especially the environmental responsibility in built environment;  to educate and perfect professional ethics and attitude.

Knowledge and skills

Graduate students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills in architecture and the following skills:

- Strengthening and improving basic scientific knowledge, professional fundamentals, and specialized knowledge, enhancing interdisciplinary knowledge; updating the specialized knowledge in the field of architecture.s

- Providing knowledge, methodology for scientific research, and acquiring independent research skills;

- Enhance theoretical knowledge and practical skills;

- Have necessary knowledge and skills to continue to study and research at doctoral level.

- Having necessary skills to solve practical issues in science and technology. These skills include: problem analysis (analysis, approach, goal setting, goal setting, etc.), problem solving (selection of studied subject, scope of study, content and research methods etc.) in the field of architecture.

- For foreign languages: To educate graduate students with knowledge before the completion of the degree according to point b, item 2, Article 27, Notification 15/2014 / TT-BGDDT (Level of foreign language ability of students. achieved at level B1 or level 3/6 of the Common European Framework - see Appendix II of the Notification), Decision 2523 / QĐ-ĐHĐN;

3. Graduate students are expected to achieve the following learning outcomes (LO):

4. Job opportunities

After graduation, students of Master’s degree of Architecture can undertake the following tasks:

- As a specialist works independently in the field of architecture, or in charge of groups of specialists who perform the management issues related to specialties such as architecture and planning projects, and construction management. Working as a member of the management boards of industrial parks, design consultancy firms, factories, and socio-economic development projects.

- Carrying out research, implementation of research projects in the field of construction in general and the field of planning and architecture in particular.

- Participating in teaching, training technical staff specialized in universities, colleges, and vocational schools.

Fields of work can be divided into disciplines as follows:

- State management: Ministry of Construction; Department of Construction of provinces and cities; Planning Institute of the provinces and cities; Specialized sections of People's Committees at all levels; The project management units of the Ministry of Construction provinces, cities and districts etc.

- Consultings: Corporations, consultancy companies in construction and architecture.

- Research: research institutes for planning and architecture, building materials, and institute for urban studies.

- Education: universities and colleges with programs of construction and architecture.

- Construction: companies operating in the field of construction and architecture

6. Entrance Exam and Candidates

Candidates must pass the entrance examination held by the University of Danang

Exams:

- Architecture Theory

-Architectural history

- Foreign language: equivalent level B (English, French, German, Chinese) in accordance to the general regulations of the University of Da Nang in the entrance examination.

7. Cases of foreign language exemption:

(i) Have a university degree in one of five languages: English, Russian, French, German, Chinese;

(ii) Have a university degree in a foreign country where the language used in the study is one of the following: English, Russian, French, German, and Chinese; University degrees issued by foreign universities or colleges must be official recognized according to current regulations of MOET.

(iii) have a bachelor degree in a country where the specialized training program is taught in one of five languages: English, Russian, French, German, Chinese, without translation;

(iv) Have an IELTS score of 4.0 or TOEFL ITP of 400 or TOEFL iBT of 32 or TOEIC of 400 or higher within the two-year period up to the date of the final exam. These certificates must be issued by well-known foreign language training centers and competent international language exam centers.

Entrance Exam Requirements

About the degree:

- Having graduated from university in the appropriate disciplines to the majors or majors registered for the exam.

- In other cases, applicants must submit notarized copies and transcripts so that the specialized science and training councils may consider and submit them to the principal for deciding the contents of additional study knowledge.

- The Department of Training and the Faculty of Architecture organize and evaluate the results of the content of additional learning before the exam.

About seniority work:

No requirement on seniority for candidates (according to Decision 3027/QĐ-ĐHĐN dated 16/6/2015 of the University of Da Nang on the development of the education program of master degree oriented research and application oriented). However, applicants must have at least a university graduation decision to the date of submission of the application.

Not distinguish graduates from public universities or private universities.

Candidates must be healthy enough to study.

To submit the application in full and on time as prescribed by the University of Da Nang.

If the candidate is working at an agency or business, the candidate need permission from her or his agency.
