Department of Artificial Intelligence

Introduction

The Department of Artificial Intelligence, under the Faculty of Information Technology, was established in 2025 with the mission of pioneering education and research in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) – one of the key disciplines of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Department is responsible for delivering both core and advanced courses in this domain, including Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Applications, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Speech Processing, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, IoT Technology, Big Data Storage and Processing, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Projects, Intelligent Systems Projects, and Computer Engineering Projects. In addition, the Department supervises graduation theses, equipping students with the essential knowledge and skills required to become engineers in the field of AI.

In response to the growing demand of society, the IT Faculty established the Artificial Intelligence Department in 2005. The department is responsible for research and teaching in key areas such as machine learning, deep learning, data science, computer vision, and natural language processing. It also focuses on developing intelligent systems, analyzing large-scale data, and promoting research as well as technology transfer in Artificial Intelligence.

The Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the principles, technologies, and applications of AI. Students will learn how to analyze, design, develop, and deploy intelligent AI systems capable of solving complex real-world problems. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of the latest methodologies and technologies, enabling students to keep pace with and master rapid scientific advancements in this field.Graduates of this program can pursue a wide range of career paths, including AI Developer, Machine Learning Engineer, Data Engineer, AI Researcher, and AI Analyst. In addition, students are equipped with a strong foundation to take on roles such as:

- Researchers and AI application specialists at research institutes, universities, colleges, and R&D centers of corporations.

- Lecturers teaching AI at universities, colleges, vocational schools, and professional training institutions.

- Experts in developing and managing AI projects in companies, startups, and government agencies.

- Pursuing postgraduate studies (Master’s/PhD) to become leading experts in the field of AI.
