Introduction to Information Technology Faculty

History of formation and development

In 1979, the Division of Computational Technique, directly under the Management Board of Danang University of Technology was established, with the first three lecturers.

In 1986, Danang University of Technology received the МИНСК-22 computer, the second generation, built in the Soviet Union.

In 1991, the Informatics Center was founded on the basis of the Department of Computational Technique, Danang University of Technology.

In 1996, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 4430/GD-ĐT dated October 17, 1996 allowing the establishment of the Information Technology (IT) Faculty under the Danang University of Technology. During the four years from 1996 to 2000, IT Faculty is one of the seven key faculties of the Nation in the National Program on ICT Development and Application in Vietnam (Resolution No. 49 / CP dated 03 August, 1993 by the Government).

In 1999, the IT Faculty trained the first Master class in Computer Science.

In 2001, the IT Faculty changed its name to Faculty of Information Technology and Electronics-Telecommunications.

In 2004, in order to meet the needs of the society and the growth of information technology, the Faculty of Information Technology and Electronics-Telecommunications was divided into Information Technology Faculty and Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications.

1979 - 1984: Engineer Huynh Doc, Head of Department of Computational Technique and Bachelor Bui Thi Hoang, Deputy Head of Department.

1984 - 1986: Dr. Phan Huy Khanh, Head of Computer Electronics Department.

1986 - 1987: Engineer Nguyen Ngoc Diep, Head of Computer Electronics Department.

1987 - 1988: Engineer Võ Ngọc Anh, Head of Computer Electronics Department.

1988 - 1989: Engineer Le Van Son, Head of Computer Department (Unifying Computer Electronics Department of Danang University of Technology and Department of Informatics of Danang University of Economics).

1989 - 1991: Bachelor Ta Van Toi,  Head of Computer Department.

1991 - 1994: Assoc. Prof. Tran Quoc Chien, Director of Informatics Center (Deputy Director: Vo Ngoc Anh and Le Van Son).

1994 - 1999: Dr. Phan Huy Khanh, Dean of IT Faculty.

1999 - 2004: MSc. Pham Vinh Minh, Dean of Faculty of Information Technology - Electronics and Telecommunications.

2004 - 2009: MSc. Dang Ba Lu, Dean of IT Faculty.

2010 - 2020: Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Dean of IT Faculty.

2020 - present: Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Tan Khoi, Dean of IT Faculty.
