Civil Engineering – Major in Smart City Construction Engineering and Management

Overview

     Civil Engineering-Construction Informatics is a 130 – 180 credits training program that is designed with output standards based on the world's most advanced approach.

Outcomes

     Graduates of the engineering program will have:

  1. Ability to apply knowledge of math, science, engineering, and technology related to construction engineering and construction management to smart cities; ability to analyze, design, and solve new and complex technical problems in order to meet health, safety, environmental, and socioeconomic standards and requirements;
  2. Ability to think critically and creatively, start a business;
  3. Ability to adapt and self-direct career; professional behavior;
  4. Ability to synthesize information in order to analyze, forecast, and provide optimal solutions;
  5. Ability to work in a team; impart knowledge in their professional fields;
  6. foreign language level of TOEIC 600 or equivalent ; ability to read and understand foreign languages in the professional field ;
  7. Basic information technology skills according to current regulations (currently Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BTTTT); applying information technology and developing calculation tools in the professional field;
  8. Organizational and management skills; ability to effectively manage and improve professional activities specialized in the field of Smart City Construction Engineering and Management.

Graduates of the bachelor's program will have:

  1. Ability to apply knowledge of math, science, engineering, technology, and smart solutions to solve problems in the field of construction and Smart City Construction Engineering and Management;
  2. Critical thinking, creative thinking, entrepreneurial thinking;
  3. Ethics, professional responsibility, professional behavior;
  4. Ability to synthesize information to analyze and provide effective solutions in the field of construction and in Smart City Construction Engineering and Management;
  5. Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively;
  6. foreign language level of TOEIC 450 or equivalent ; ability to read and understand foreign languages in the professional field ;
  7. Basic information technology skills according to current regulations (currently Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BTTTT); applying information technology in the field of construction and specializing in Smart City Construction Engineering and Management;
  8. Ability to generate ideas and design, plan, manage, and operate professional activities in the field of construction and Smart City Construction Engineering and Management in accordance with business, social, and environmental contexts

TRAINING TIME

     Students can finish the Civil Engineering - Construction Informatics program in 4 to 5.5 years. Time required to complete general and fundamental knowledge: 2.5 to 3 years. The specialized knowledge and graduation project will be completed in 1.5 to 2.5 years.

Graduates from Smart Urban Construction Engineering and Management can work in:

  • Construction departments, branches, management boards, and state management units;
  • Construction corporations, consulting, design, and construction units;
  • Software development firms, IT development and application departments;
  • Companies and departments of smart city development.
